Boulder County charities celebrate
record-breaking Colorado Gives Day

Longmont-based charity Colorado FriendShip took part in its first Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, helping it provide backpacks full of nutritious food to elementary school students.

Colorado Friendship plans to serve more communities, provide more services to the needy

On a particularly cold Sunday in February, jittering volunteers lined up in front of Colorado Friendship’s 24-foot clothes trailer, spoons and spatulas poised and ready to serve steaming chili and hefty chocolate cake slices. Marty Leopold, a volunteer manager who’s been with Colorado Friendship for five years, boasts about the chili his wife makes for the program.
